Story behind
While writing this song I was thinking about my childhood. My grandfather really was my best friend for a long time, he’d always made me laugh until my stomach hurt and he taught me many things, such as playing the piano! This melody brings me back to these sweet memories, but also embody sadness because these moments belong to the past.
Nowadays I see my own daughter having this wonderful relationship with my father. It warms my heart to see them laugh ogether. The fact that my father wil not be able to see her grow up due to his illness, led to the bittersweet feeling and more dramatic middle section.
